GENII acquires all shares in Compart AG

At the end of August 2022, GSG GENII Software Group GmbH ("GENII"), a Munich-based enterprise software holding company, acquired all shares in Compart AG ("Compart"), a software specialist for omnichannel customer communication, from the previous shareholders Harald Grumser and Christof Mayer. GENII's majority shareholders are the funds advised by Bregal Unternehmerkapital ("BU").

The current management of Compart will continue to run the company independently within GENII. Harald Grumser, who withdrew from the operational business more than a year ago and moved to Compart's supervisory board, will remain at the company's side as a consultant in the coming years; Christof Mayer will also remain with the company in his usual position as head of research.

In the past fiscal year, Compart grew profitably and gained new customers. With GENII as the new owner and partner at its side, a maximum of continuity for customers, partners and employees is also guaranteed in the future. This also applies in particular to Compart's proven range of products and services.

Matthias Siekmann, CEO GENII:

"Compart successfully connects people, companies and business-critical systems. We look forward to continuing the company's success story together with its management and employees. As an entrepreneurial group of medium-sized software companies, GENII is a longterm partner for Compart, which will ensure that Compart retains and further expands its leading role in the field of omnichannel communication in the future."

Harald Grumser, Compart:

"Compart has been an innovation driver for years and is one of the leading providers for document and output management with excellent know-how, strong customer relationships and first-class employees. Our discussions have shown that GENII is the ideal strategic partner for Compart, ensuring that Compart can continue to develop successfully in the long term with the existing management and all employees. I am convinced that this step will support the development to date and I look forward to continuing to support the company as an advisor in the future."
