Widow
A widow is the term used in printing or typography to describe a pagination error. The term describes the phenomenon when the last line (or the last words of a section) is not properly kept together with the corresponding text on a page or in a column, but stands alone on the next page or in the next column. To control those 'widows', special settings may be used in CSS and XSL-FO, for example.
