Compart - Document- and Output-Management

Glossary

Intermediate Format

For the conversion of one format into another, Compart uses MFF filters and a common object format, the Presentation Area, or briefly the PA, which forms a sort of superset of all supported formats. Moreover, it is also possible to purposefully create a file in a Compart defined intermediate format instead of the in-memory object format. This may be useful when file content provided in a sequential format like PCL is not to be read sequentially.
