Compart - Document- and Output-Management

The term conversion is used to describe the process of transforming a datastream or an input file, typically from an input file format into another output format. For the conversion a converter is used, which can convert one or more files into the target format. In some cases the input and output format of the files can also be identical: then the generation of binary copies may be possible. If the files are not only converted to another format but the contents are modified as well, then the term transformation is used.
