PDF/A-3

PDF/A-3 describes the usage of PDF documents for long term archiving of electronic documents based on PDF version 1.7. ISO standard ISO 19005-3:2012 determines the requirements a PDF document must fulfill in order to be regarded as a standard compliant PDF/A-3 document. PDF/A-3 permits the attachement of other data types to the PDF document. These attachments are not validated and are therefore not necessarily appropriate for long-term archiving.
